Math 3D shapes
Second Grade has been learning about shapes in Math. We began by reviewing vertices and sides on 2D figures then moved on to naming 3D figures. We used the gumdrops to represent the vertices of a 3D figure and the toothpicks were the sides. We elaborated on to faces of the shapes. Then we made a double bubble map comparing 2D figures to 3D figures. We learned a lot about 2D and 3D shapes. Click here to see us work.

I'm so glad that you 2nd graders are so good at math. That is a very important skill and doing well in math will take you very far in life.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet it was hard to stick the gumdrops on the toothpicks instead of popping them in your mouth and eating them.
