Science
Our 2nd graders are studying balance and motion. We’ve been learning about counter balance, or using weights to make things balance. Last week students balanced lobsters made of tag board. This week Mrs. Golden’s students spent time exploring how to make a pencil balance on its tip. Students were given a piece of tape, a popsicle stick, two clothespins, a wire, and a pencil. The students tried many creative ways to balance the pencil. Take a look at our pictures and see if you can make a pencil balance on its lead.
