Today at school the students planted seeds. We’ll be talking a lot in the next few weeks about the parts of plants and the things that plants need to grow healthy and strong. Today we gave our seeds soil, sunlight, air, and the right temperature. We also gave them water. We decided that the planting cups need a way to get rid of extra water in case they get too much, so we punched a few holes in the bottom of the planting cups. Now the plants have everything they need. In about a week when our seeds germinate, or sprout, we’ll observe them with our eyes and hands. We’ll write and draw what we see.

Planting Seeds
